APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION
FUND NO. 235 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING FOR
E4UIPMENT FOR THE CITY - COUNTY HOSPITAL AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there is due the sum of Sixteen Hundred and Forty -nine
Dollars and Forty Cents ($1,649.40) for laundry equipment purchased from
the War Assets Administration, said equipment to be used in the City -
County Hospital; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is obligated to pay one -half
of the aforesaid sum which is Eight Hundred and Twenty -four Dollars and
Seventy Cents ($821.70); and,
WHEREAS, there is sufficient funds in the Hospital Construction
Fund No. 235, which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for
this purpose;
NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXASs
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Eight
Hundred and Twenty -four Dollars and Seventy Cents ($824.70) from the
Hospital Construction Fund No. 235, which money is to be used to pay for
equipment purchased from war Assets Administration for the City- County
Hospital.
SECTION 2. The fact that such laundry equipment is essential for
adequate hospital facilities at the City- County Hospital creates a public
emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

Gentlemen;
I have examined the accounts and fund from which the
appropriation is made, as provided for in the ordinance attached
hereto, and I do certify that the money required for such appro-
priation is in the Treasury to the credit of the fund from which
such appropriation is to be drawn, and that there are monies in
such fund which are not appropriated for any other purpose and
which are available at this time.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced; or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
