HomeMy WebLinkAbout02091 ORD - 05/27/1947AN ORDINANCEti:� APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM GENERAL FUND NO. 102 TO BE USED FOR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES FOR THE CITY ATTORNEY, ITEMS "SA.LARIES ", "LAW BOOKS ", AND "SPECIAL SERVICES ", FOR THE CITY HALL_ ITEMS "SALARIES ", AND "MAINTENANCE OF LANDS AND BUILDINGS "; FOR THE CORPORATION COURT, ITEMS "SALARIES ", "OFFICE SUPPLIES ", AND "SPECIAL SERVICES "; AND FOR THE PURCHASING AGENT, ITEMS " SALARIES ", "OFFICE SUPPLIES ", "COMMUNICATIONS ", AND "TRAVEL ", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. MU REAS, there is needed in the City Attorneys Department under items "Salaries ", the sum of Fifty -one Hundred Dollars ($5,100.00), under item "Law Books" the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00), under item "Special Services" the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150.00), making a total of Fifty -five Hundred Dollars ($5,500.00) for operational expenses for said Department for the remainder of the fiscal year; and, ,V2�EREAS, there is needed in the City Hall Budget Item, item "Salaries" the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and item "Maintenance of Lands and Buildings" the sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($1+0000.00), making a total of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) needed for upkeep and opera- tional expenses for the City Hall for the remainder of the fiscal year; and, WHEREAS, there is needed by the Corporation Court under item "Salaries" the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), under item "Office Supplies" the sum of Six Hundred Dollars (0600.00), under item "Special Services" the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00), making a total of Eighteen Hundred Dollars ($1,800.00) needed by said Corporation Court for operational expenses for the remainder of the fiscal year; and, WHEREAS, there is needed by the Purchasing Agent under item "Salaries" the sum of Sixteen Hundred Dollars ($1,600.00), under item "Office Supplies" the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars (0700.00), under item "Communications" the sum of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) and under item "Travel" the sum of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) making a total of Three Thousand Dollars ($'3,000.00) needed for operational expenses for the remainder of the fiscal year; and, __?Q q/ WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the General Fund No. 102 which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for the aforesaid purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 14 That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Fifty - five Hundred Dollars ($5,500.00) from the General Fund No. 102, which money is to be used in the City Attorneys fund and is hereby transferred as follows: under item "Salaries ", Fifty -one Hundred Dollars ($5,100.00), under item "Law Books ", Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00), under item "Special Services ", One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150.00). Said money to be used for operational expenses for said City Attorneyls office during the remainder of this fiscal year. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) from the General Fund No. 102, which money is to be used in the City Hall Budget Item and is hereby transferred as follows: under item "Salaries", One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), under item "Maintenance of Lands and Buildings ", Four Thousand Dollars (,000.00). Said money to be used for operational expenses and upkeep for the City Hall for the remainder of this fiscal year. SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Eighteen Hundred Dollars ($1,800.00) from the General Fund No. 102, which money is to be used in the Corporation Court's fund and is hereby transferred as follows: under item "Salaries ", One Thousand Dollars 01,000.00), under item "Office Supplies ", Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00), under item "Special Services ", Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). Said money to be used for operational expenses for the Corporation Court for the remainder of this fiscal year. SECTION 4. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000600) from the General Fund No. 102, which money is to be used in the purchasing Agent's fund and is hereby transferred as follows: under item "Salaries ", Sixteen Hundred Dollars (41600.00), under item -2- "Office Supplies ", Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00), under item "Communi- cations", Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00), under item "Travel ", Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00). Said money to be used for operational expenses for the Purchasing Agent for the remainder of this fiscal year. SECTION 5. The fact that it is essential to appropriate additional money in order to operate the above departments efficiently for the remainder of this fiscal year creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the 3�hyor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduotion and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
