APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED
AND FORTY -FIVE DOLLARS AND NINETY -FOUR CENTS 09,845 -94)
FROM GAS IMPROVEMENT AND REHABILITATION BOND FUND
NO. 266 FOR THE PURPOSE OF GAS PROJECTS NO. 409, BEL
AIRE NO. 2 AND N0. 410, LA :VMDALE IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, AND DECLARING AN Eb%RGENCY.
VMMEAS, there is needed the sum of Ten Thousand ,tight Hundred
and Seventy -six Dollars. and Sixty Cents (W10 876.60) for gas projects,
same being project No. 409, Bel Aire No. 2 and No. 410, Lawndale, both
within the City limits of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
'WHEREAS, there is Nine Thousand Light Hundred and Forty -five
Dollars and Ninety -four Cents (09,845.914) in the Gas Improvement and
Rehabilitation Bond Fund No. 266, which is now unencumbered and which
funds are available for this purpose;
NOK, TBEEP,EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Nine
Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty -five Dollars and Ninety -four Cents
(09,845.94) from the Gas Improvement and Rehabilitation Bond Fund No. 266,
which money is to be used to pay for gas projects No. 409, Bel Aire No. 2
and No. 410, Lawndale, both projects within the City.
SECTION 2. The fact that the above set out projects are necessary
to procure adequate gas facilities creates a public emergency and public
imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced
and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Iviayor having declared that such public emerEency
and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such charter rule
be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of
the foregoing Ordinance, a public emergency and an imperative
necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or re-
quirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council;
I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule
or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

I have examined the accounts and fund from which the
appropriation is made, as provided for in the ordinance attached
hereto, and I do certify that the money required for such appro-
priation is in the Treasury to the credit of the fund from which
such appropriation is to be drawn, and that there are monies in
such fund which are not appropriated for any other purpose and
which are available at this time.
