AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO EXECUTE
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE FEDERAL WORKS AGENCY OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA FOR ENGINEERING WORK FOR
EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SANITARY
SEWER SYSTEM AND DISPOSAL PLANT AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTICN 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, an agreement With
the Federal Works Agency of the United States of America and being,
more specifically, B.F.C. Form 405, Federal Yorks Agency Form; a copy
of such agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and
reads as follows, to -Wits

herein known as the Applicant, requests the Federal Works Agency, Bureau of Community
Facilities, to advance $50,850 for the purpose of plan preparation for construc-
tion of the public work described as extensions and improvements to the existing
sanitary sewer system and disposal plant
located at Corpus Christi, Texas and, contingent upon receipt of the
advance, offers to complete such plan preparation and to repay such advance when
required in accordance with the regulations of the Bureau dated January 1- ,1946 .
Pursuant to authority duly vested by the governing body of the Applicant, this
agreement has been executed in behalf of the Applicant by the undersigned on the
17th day of June , 194 7 .

SECTION 2. The necessity at all times for maintaining
an adequate sanitary sewer system and disposal plant for the oitizens
of the City of Corpus Christi and the necessity for extending such
sewer system and disposal plant creates a public emergency and pub -
lio imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity
exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended,
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 41— day of June, A. D. 1917.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, apuolic emergency and imporative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; 1, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
