AUTHORIZING A REDUCTION OF FORTY THOUSAND
($40,000.00) DOLLARS IN TRANSFERS FROM WATER
FUND NO. 104 TO SEWER FUND NO. 109, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there has been authorized a transfer of Ninety
Thousand ($90,000.00) Dollars from Water Fund No. 104 to Sewer Fund
No. 109; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Sewer Fund can
take care of its operations successfully and reduce the amount of money
to be transferred from Water Rand No. 104 to Sewer Fund No. 109 in the
sum of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars and it has been determined
that the remainder after the reduction of such $40,000.00 will be suffi-
cient for the balance of this year for sewer operations;
NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the transfer of Ninety Thousand ($90,000.00)
Dollars from Water Fund No. 1014 to Sewer Fund No. 109 is hereby reduced
in the amount of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars. The amount of such
reduction is to remain in Water Fund No. 101 and is not to be transferred
to Sewer Fund No. 109.
SECTION 2.. The fact that the City has a surplus in its Sewer
Fund No. 109 and is not in need of the total transfer of Ninety Thousand
($90,000.00) Dollars as authorized from the Water Fund No. 104 and the
necessity for said money not being transferred when same is not needed creates
a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist,
and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the day of July, A.D. 1917.
