HomeMy WebLinkAbout02110 ORD - 07/08/1947AN ORDINANCE/ r(/ AUTHORIZING A REDUCTION OF FORTY THOUSAND ($40,000.00) DOLLARS IN TRANSFERS FROM WATER FUND NO. 104 TO SEWER FUND NO. 109, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, there has been authorized a transfer of Ninety Thousand ($90,000.00) Dollars from Water Fund No. 104 to Sewer Fund No. 109; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Sewer Fund can take care of its operations successfully and reduce the amount of money to be transferred from Water Rand No. 104 to Sewer Fund No. 109 in the sum of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars and it has been determined that the remainder after the reduction of such $40,000.00 will be suffi- cient for the balance of this year for sewer operations; NOWT, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the transfer of Ninety Thousand ($90,000.00) Dollars from Water Fund No. 1014 to Sewer Fund No. 109 is hereby reduced in the amount of Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars. The amount of such reduction is to remain in Water Fund No. 101 and is not to be transferred to Sewer Fund No. 109. SECTION 2.. The fact that the City has a surplus in its Sewer Fund No. 109 and is not in need of the total transfer of Ninety Thousand ($90,000.00) Dollars as authorized from the Water Fund No. 104 and the necessity for said money not being transferred when same is not needed creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspen- sion of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED. Very truly yours, Director of Finance City Controller vw Corpus Christi, Texas July , , 1947 TO THE MENMERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
