REDUCING CERTAIN APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE STREET
IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION FUND AND TRANSFERRING
FUNDS FRMT SAID STREET IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION
FUND NO. 220 TO SIDEPJALK CONSTRUCTION FUND NO.
208, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Budget of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
contains certain items of expenditure supported by proper appropriation
for Street Improvement Construction Fund No. 220; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City can, without
detriment to its operation, and without detriment to the maintenance
and upkeep of streets, reduce the Street Improvement Construction Fund
No. 220 in the amount of Six Thousand 06,000.00) Dollars;and,
WHEREAS, Sidewalk Construction Fund No. 208 needs additional
funds to satisfactorily carry out various programs to be completed before
the end of the fiscal year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TERASs
SECTION 1. That the appropriation for Street Improvement
Construction Fund No. 220 is hereby reduced in the sum of Six Thousand
($6,000.00) Dollars. That such reduction leaves unencumbered and un-
appropriated in Street Improvement Construction Fund No. 220 the sum of
$6,000.00.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby transferred from Street
Improvement Construction Fund No. 220 to the Sidewalk Construction Fund
No. 208 the sum of Six Thousand ($6,000.00) Dollars to be used for side-
walk construction purposes.
SECTION 3. The fact that the City has surplus in Street
Improvement Construction Fund No. 220, but needs additional monies in
Sidewalk Construction Fund No. 208 in order to properly carry out construc-
tion of sidewalks to the end of the fiscal year creates a public emergency
and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at

three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDATNED.

Gentlemen:
I have examined the accounts and fund from which the
appropriation is made, as provided for in the ordinance attached
hereto, and I do certify that the money required for such appro-
priation is in the Treasury to the credit of the fund from which
such appropriation is to be drawn, and that there are monies in
such fund which are not appropriated for ary other purpose and
which are available at this time.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the lr esent meeting of
the City Council.
