APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED AND NINETY -ONE DOLLARS AND EIGHTY -
FIVE CENTS ($1,491.85) FROM SANITARY AND
STORM WATER SEWER CONSTRUCTION FUND NO. 265
TO CURRENT FUND NO. 102 TO BE USED FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PAYMENT OF ENGINEERING AND SUPER-
VISION SERVICES ON THE SEWER CONSTRUCTION
PROJECTS AND DECLARING AN EBAERGENCY.
, there is needed in Current Fund No. 102 the sum
of One Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety -one Dollars and Eighty -five
Cents ($1,491.85) to make payment for engineering and supervision
services on sewer construction projects for October, November, and
December, 1946, and January, February, March, April and May, 1947; and,
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in Sanitary and Storm
Water Sewer Construction Fund No. 265, which is now unencumbered and
which funds are available for this purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, .
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of One
Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety -one Dollars and Eighty -five Cents ($1;491.85)
from Sanitary and Storm mater Sewer Construction Fund No. 265 for payment
for engineering and supervision services in sewer construction projects
as set out in 4tatement attached to this ordinance and made a part hereof
for all intents and purposes.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby transferred said sum of 01,491.85
from Sanitary and Storm Water Sewer Construction Fund No. 265 to Current
Fund No. 102, said sum to be used for the purposes set out in Section 1.
SECTION 3. The fact that it is essential to provide proper
and adequate sanitary and storm water sewers for the benefit of the health
and safety of the citizens of the City creates a public emergency and
public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it
is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that

such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
I have examined the accounts and fund from which the
appropriation is made, as provided for in the ordinance attached
hereto, and I do certify that the money required for such appro-
priation is in the Treasury to the credit of the fund from which
such appropriation is to be drawn, and that there are monies in
such fund which are not appropriated for any other purpose and
which are available at this time.

Gentlemen;
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
