APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF TWENTY THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED AND NINETY -FOUR DOLLARS AND FIFTY -SEVEN
CENTS (020,494.57) FROM STREET IMPROVMMNT
CONSTRUCTION FUND NO. 220 TO CURRENT FUND NO.
102 TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYMENT OF
ENGINEERING AND SUPERVISION SERVICES ON
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there is needed in Current Fund No. 102 the sum
of Twenty Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety -four Dollars and Fifty -
seven Cents ($$20,1}94.57) to make payment for engineering and supervision
services on construction projects for August, September, October, November
and December, 1946, and January, February, March, April and May, 19117; and,
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in Street Improvement
Construction Fund No. 220, which is now unencumbered and which funds are
available for this purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of
Twenty Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety -four Dollars and Fifty -seven
Cents ($20,494.57) from Street Improvement Construction Fund No. 220 for
payment for engineering and supervision services in Construction projects
as set out in statement attached to this ordinance and made a part hereof
for all intents and purposes.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby transferred said sum of
$20,494.57 from Street Improvement Construction Fund No. 220 to Current
Fund No. 102, said sum to be used for the purposes set out in Section 1.
SECTION 3. The fact that it is essential to provide proper
and adequate streets for the benefit of the health and safety of the
citizens of the City creates a public emergency and public imperative
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public
emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such

Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
effeot from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen;
I have examined the accounts and fund from which the
appropriation is made, as provided for in the ordinance attached
hereto, and I do certify that the money required for such appro-
priation is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund from which
such appropriation is to be drawn, and that there are monies in
such fund which are not appropriated for any other purpose and
which are available at this time.

Gentlemen=
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
