ADVANCING THE SUM OF SEVENTY -FIVE THOUSAND
($75,000.00) DOLLARS FROM METER DEPOSIT FUND
NO. 111 TO WATER FUND NO. 101,E FOR THE PURPOSE
OF CARRYING WAREHOUSE STOCK FOR THE NXTER
DEPARTMENT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WFlEREA.S, there is needed the sum of Seventy -five Thousand
($75,000.00) Dollars for carrying warehouse stocks of pipes and meters
for the Eater Department; and,
WHEREAS, there is sufficient funds in Meter Deposit Fund No. 114
which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose;
NOff, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby advanced the sum of Seventy-
five Thousand (J75,000.00) Dollars from Meter Deposit Fund No. 114 to
Water Fund No. 104 which funds are to be used for the purpose of carrying
warehouse stocks of pipes and meters for the Water Department and which
funds are to be returned to Meter Deposit Fund No. 111 when the purpose
for which they are advanced is carried out.
SECTION 2. The fact that it is necessary to carry warehouse
stocks of pipes and meters for the Water Department in order to assure
proper water facilities for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates
a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or reso-
lution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative
necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended,
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen;
I have examined the accounts and fund from which the
appropriation is made, as provided for in the ordinance attached
hereto, and I do certify that the money required for such appro-
priation is in the Treasury to the credit of the fund from which
such appropriation is to be drawn, and that there are monies in
such fund which are not appropriated for any other purpose and
which are available at this time.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I. therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
