TERMINATING AND DECLARING OF NO FORCE AND
EFFECT A IRA 'CONTRACT COVERING BUILDING
N0. 656, LOCATED AT CUDDIHY FIELD AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 2045, duly passed and approved
by the City Council on the 7th day of March, 1947, a lease contract
was entered into between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and
L. W. Ellison and H. R. Bamesberger wherein Building No. 656 located
at Cuddihy Field was leased to said persons by the City; and,
WHEREAS, Lessees have never entered into the premises,
taken possession, nor paid the rent for such building; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed that said lease is of no force and
effect and has been forfeited by the Lessees;
NaT, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That said lease between the City and L. W. Ellison
and H. R. Bamesberger is of no further force and effect and is terminated
by virtue of forfeiture of such lease by Lessees.
SECTION 2. The necessity for maintaining and keeping proper
control of the buildings located at Cuddihy Field oreates a public
emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of
the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist,
and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT
IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I. therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
