AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE
SAID CITY AN ECJUIPMENT LICENSE WITH THE U. S. CIVIL
AERONAUTICS ADMINISTRATION FOR TETRAHEDRON TRAFFICAIRE
CONTROL AT CLIFF MAUS AIRPORT AND DECLARING AN MIER-
GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and
on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, an equipment lease with the
U.S. Civil Aeronautics Administration for equipment, same being
Tetrahedron Traffioaire Control, complete with underground power and
control cable from the Traffic Control Tower, said equipment to be
used at Cliff Maus Airport in the City of Corpus Christi; a copy of
such license is attached hereto and made a part hereof and reads
as follows, to -wits

EQUIPMENT LICENSE

This license is granted on condition that
will operate the lighting equipment hereinbefore- Jisied in accordance with the requirements of
the Civil Aeronautics Administration; maintairi-I& lighting dgaipment in proper operating con-
dition;-making such repairs, aud.repl&cementa _ as may be needed from time to time; permit the
inspeetion• Of such equipment by airway meahariicians for -the purpose of ascertaining whether it
is being properly cared ftrr. and operated.
If the equipment listed above is on a landing field ___

proper notices when unsafe on account of floods or necessary work of conditioning or other emergency
cause; allow the Government and the public to land upon the landing .field in cases,of emergency
without fee or charge.
This license is given with the understanding that it is revocable at will by the Civil Aeronautics

SECTION 2. The necessity for maintaining proper airport
facilities at Cliff Maus Airport creates a public emergency and
public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency
and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such
Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be reed at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
