LOTT TRACT; THAT PORTION OF ORIGINAL SCOTT STREET LYING NORTH OF BLOCKS NOS. 915, 1015, 1115, 1215 AND FRACTIONAL BLOCK NO. 1315 AND SOUTH OF FRACTIONAL BLOCKS NOS. 914, 1014, 1114, 1214 AND 1314 OF SAID PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS SUBDIVISION, SAME BEING ALL THAT PORTION OF ORIGINAL SCOTT STREET LYING WEST OF ALANIEDA STREET AND EAST OF WHAT IS KNOVdN AS FAISLEY'S SUB- DIVISION: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: Whereas, notice of the closing of portions of certain streets /or avenues, hereinafter dascribed,has been given by publication and by mail to the last known addresses of all 'record owners of the property abutting and immediately adjacent to said portions of land and within four hundred fifty feet (450') thereof, and thereafter, pursuant to said notice, to -wit: on the 19th day of August, A.D. 1947, a public hearing was held by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of Section 6, Article II, of �Jl3l the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Whereas, it has been duly determined by the City Council after such public hearing, that the portions of streets /or avenues hereinafter described are olosed, and that the same have been closed for many years, and that the hereinafter described portions of streets /or avenues have never been used as a thoroughfare by the general public and that the streets /or avenues have never been graded on said portions, and that the owners of the property abutting and immediately adjacent to said portions of streets /or avenues are willing to have the said portions of said streets /or avenues closed and favor the closing of same, and that it will be to the advantage of the City of Corpus Christi to have the said portions of said streets /or avenues be closed, and that the closing of same have been duly approved by the City Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Corpus Christi, as required by law: NOW, TBEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the following described portions of designated streets /or avenues, in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be closed to public use, said portions being described as follows, to -wit: (1) That portion of original Trinidad Street lying East of Fractional Block No. 1415 and West of Fractional Block No. 1315 of said Port Aransas Cliffs Subdivision, same being all that portion of original Trinidad Street lying North of Ropes Street to its intersection with the East line of Paisley's Subdivision. (2) That portion of original Pueblo Street lying East of Fractional Blocks Nos. 1315 and 1314 and West of Block No. 1215 and Fractional Block No. 1214 of said Fort Aransas Cliffs Subdivision, same being all that portion of original Pueblo Street lying North of Ropes Street and South of what is known as the U. Lott tract. (3) That portion of original Waco Street lying, East of Block No. 1215 and Fractional Block No. 1214 and West of Block No. 1115 and Fractional Block No. 1114 of said Port Aransas Cliffs Subdivision, same being all that portion of original Waco Street lying North of Ropes Street and South of what is known as the U. Lott tract. (4) That portion of original Fort Worth Street lying East of Block No. 1115 and Fractional Block No. 1114 and West of Block No. 1015 and Fractional Block No. 1014 of said Port Aransas Cliffs Subdivision, same being all that portion of original Fort Worth Street lying North of Ropes Street and South of what is known as the U. Lott tract. (5) That portion of original Dallas Street lying East of Block No. 1015 and Fractional Block No. 1014 and West of Block No. 915 and Fractional Block No. 914 of said Port Aransas Cliffs Subdivision, same being all that portion of original Dallas Street lying North of Ropes Street and South of what is known as the U. Lott tract. (6) That portion of original Scott Street lying North of Blocks Nos. 915, 1015, 1115, 1215 and Fractional Block No. 1315 and South of Fractional Blocks Nos. 914, 1014,_1114 , 1214 and 1314 of said Port Aransas Cliffs Subdivision,same being all that portion of original Scott Street lying West of Alameda Street and East of what is known as Paisley's Subdivision. said SECTION 2. That the /above described portion of streets /or avenues be, and they are hereby ordered and directed, returned to the abutting property owners entitled to the same. SECTION 3. The fact that public convenience and necessity will be better served by the immediate closing of said portions of said six streets /or avenues, creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY ORDAINED. MAYOR, CityloT Corpus Chris etas ATTEST: ity Secretary APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM: ty Attorney Corpus Christi, Texas August , 1947 TO THE KWERS OF THE CITY COUivCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and an im- perative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the Present meeting of the City Council.
