REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2123, PASSED ON THE 29th
DAY OF JULY, 1947, ENTITLED " AN ORDI1,T4,TCE AUTH-
ORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO EXECUTE FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY A PERSONAL PROPERTY PERMIT
WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA COVERING PER -
SONAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT CUDDIHY FIELD AIM
DECLARING AN MgERGENCY ";AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY WIAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF TEE; CITY
A PERSONAL PROPERTY PERMIT WITH THE UNITED STATES
OF X,1ERICA COP;HING PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT
CUDDIIIY FIELD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2123, passed and approved by the
City Council on the 29th day of July, 1947, the City Council authorized
the'City Manager to execute for and on behalf of the City a personal
property permit with the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, due to a mistake in information furnished the Legal
Department by the Department of Public Utilities, said permit authorized
in said Ordinance was not acceptable to the United States of America; and,.
TRLI RAS, a new permit has been prepared in accordance with the
agreement between the City and the United States of America;
NOVV, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAII1TED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2123, passed and approved on
the 29th day of July, 1947, entitled as follows;
"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AT-D DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO EXECUTE FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY A PERSONAL PROPERTY PERMIT KITH THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA COVERING PERSONAL PROPERTY
LOCATED AT CUDDIHY FIELD AATD DECLARING AN EMERGENCY"

SECTION 2. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi
R< is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of said

City a personal property permit with the United States of America, this
personal property permit to take the place of and be in lieu of personal

property permit set out in Ordinance No. 2123, passed on the 29th day
Of July, 1947, a copy of such new permit being attached hereto and made
a part hereof for all pertinent purposes and reads as follows, to -wit:

made of even date ! herewith and executed by the local representative
of the Uovernment and the representative of the F'ermittsa) be made
available to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas for such City's temporary
use thereof in connection with its operation of naval Auxiliary Air
Station, Cuddihy Pield, under a Revocable _'erm£t of even date herewith.

Taxes, hereinafter called the eermittoe, permission to use all of the
personal property, fixtures, *quipaiento at*, as shown on the Inventory

5. All activities authorized hereunder shall be subject to such

ture, etc. an it may deem necessary in connection with its operation
of such field and all such personal property, fixtures, furniture. eto*

SECTION 2. The necessity for adequate operations of Cuddihy
Field by the City and for obtaining personal property for use at said
field from the government creates a public emergency and public impera-
tive necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED,

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
