J. CONSTRUCTION COh+YAVY, THE CONTRACTOR P'ERFORDIING SAID YOORK; AND DECLARING AN EneMGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TM CITY OF CORPUS CHRI;TI, SECTION 1. That the work of improving the following streets and portions thereof in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to -wit: AREA ITO. 2 West side Ocean Drive from Louisiana to Southern. )Test side Ocean Drive from Cole to Buford. East side Brownlee from A� /ers to 1,1crgan. '.Test side Brownlee from Ayers to Morgan. East side 17th Street from Prescott to Morgan. East side 16th Street from Ayers to Elizabeth. R. by constructing sidewalks alenC the sides of the said portions of the described streets all as provided for in the plans and specifications for such improvements, having been performed and completed in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract and the plans and speci- fications therein contained, dated July 17, 19146, between the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, and I.1. J. Construction Company; and the Director of Public .4orks of said Cite of Corpus Christi having examined, measured and caused to be tested the finished in-,provements by the means and manner provided by the terms of such contract and the plans and specifications therein contained, wad the Director of Public tJorks _! :5 of said City having found that such improvements have been constructed and completed in full compliance with the terms and provisions of said contract and the plans and specifications thereof, and having heretofore issued his certificate of final acceptance and so certified to said City Council and recommended that said City Council accept and receive said work and the improvements as constructed by said Z. j. Construction Company and said work and improvements having been accepted by the said Director of Public , ;orks, and said work and improvements having bean found by the Ialeyor and City Council of said City to have been performed and completed, in full compliance with said contract and plans and specifi- cations thereof, same are hereby found to have been performed and com- pleted by said I.I. J. Construction Company in full compliance with said provisions of said contract, and the plans and specifications thereof, and are here now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. That the Mayor and City Secretary of said City are hereby authorized and directed to issue to 1� ". J. Construction Company special assessment certificates evidencing the assessments against pror- erty approved along: AREA IdO. 2 West side Ocean Drive from Louisiana to Southern. R. within the limits above defined and against the real and true owner or omiers thereof, which, by the terms of such contract, the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, has agreed and obligated itself to issue and deliver to -2- said M. J. Construction Company in accordance with the provisions of the final assessment ordinance and other proceedings heretofore had and adopted by said City of Corpus Christi; said assessment certificates to be executed in the name of said City by the Iuayor and City Secretary thereof and inr pressed by the seal of said City, and such officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute said certificates in their official capacity on behalf of said City, and deliver same to the said `1A. J. Construction Company. SLCTICBT j. The fact that permanent street improvements in the nature of construction of permanent sidewalks along the streets hereinabove described within the City of Corpus Christi are immediately necessary for the health and public welfare of the inhabitants thereof and to prevent exposing; the citizens to traffic hazards on said streets creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that said Ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings Of the City Council, and the Laayor having declared that such energency and public imperative necessity exist, and requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
