CHRISTI, TEXAS:
S➢CTION 1. That the City Iv[anager of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to execute a release
of the '4eed Control Lien to Dan Clark, copy of which release is
attached to this ordinance and made a part hereof for all intents
and purposes and reads as follows, to -wit:

YHVIAS, the City of Corpus Christi, Nusoes County, Texas,
a Municipal Corporation, by and thru its agent, Gordon F. Fisher, M.D.,
City Health Officer, pursuant to his authority contained in .Article 4436.
&eeised.Cidii,Statutes of Texas, 1925, asserted and fixed a lien against
the East 5' of Lot No. 21, and all of Lot No. 22, Block No. 1 of the
Del liar Subdivision to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, which lien
was recorded on September 16, 1917, in Volume 30, at page 535 of the
Mechanic's Lien Eeoords of Nueces County, Texas, to secure to the
City of Corpus Christi, the payment of Fourteen Dollars and Six Cents
($11.x.06); and,
iiiMEAS, the work which was done for which the Fourteen
Dollars and Six Cents (J14.06) was claimed and the lion asserted was
done on October 31, 1946, at which time title po the above — mentioned
lots was in a Mrs. M. P. Peacock; and,
t9HMMS, titls to said property was transferred to Dan Clark
prior to the time that the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, asserted and
recorded its asserted lien, the said Dan Clark being without record
notice of the City's asserted lien at the time of purchase;
HOW, THSREFORS, 1, H. H. Alen, City Manager of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, acting pursuant to the authority granted me by
Ordinance No. duly and properly enacted by the City Council of
the City of Carpus Christi, Texas, on the of October, 1947, have
this day, and do by these presents, release, discharge and quitclaim
unto the said Dan Clark, his heirs and assigns, the above described
lien heretofore existing on the above described premises, and declare
the same fully cancelled.

SECTION 2. The fact Lhat the lien above mentioned was not
properly filed and should be released in order to clear title to
property owned "by Dan Clark creates a public emergency and public
imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the 1,4ayor having
declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist,
and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that
this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, I'T IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such, ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; i, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at -the present meeting of
the City Council.
