AN ORDINANCE
CONSOLIDATING FUND N0. 119, "OSO SETTER ", WITH
FUND NO. 109, "SEWER ", EFFECTIVE AS OF OCTOBER 31,
1917, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City formerly contracted with the Federal Govern-
ment for operation of the Oso Sewer Plant and in pursuance of such oper-
ation a separate fund for operation of such plant, same being Fund No.
119, was set up for this purpose; and,
WHEREAS, said Oso Sewer Plant is now being operated by the
City in connection with its other sewer plants by virtue of a lease
agreement with the United States of America; and,
iflM EAS, it is no longer necessary to carry a separate fund
for the operation of the Oso Sewer Plant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS:
SECTION 1. That Fund No. 119, "Oso Sewer ", be consolidated
and become a part of Fund No. 109, "Sewer ", same to be effective as of
the close of business on October 31, 1947 -
SECTION 2. The fact that it is necessary for proper accounting
to consolidate the above mentioned accounts creates a public emergency
and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
