Clark, Mayor Pro 'Tom and a City Commissioner, and John A. Ferris, Ray R. Henry, Joe T. 1)swsoa, as City Commissioners of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, post office addresses of each of whom is City Hall, Corpus Christi, Texas, desire to amend the City of Corpus Chriuti's present "Pdi2t?IT TO APPROPRI1T 7 PUBLIC WATER W TIE STALE OF TEUS NO. 93�% said Permit having been issued by the Board of ;later - wagineers on tine 31st day of October, 192',', to which permit and the record thereof reference is hereby made for all intents and purposes. The applicants desire to amend the said Water Permit Xo. 933 for the purpose of furnishing water to the following described area in Nueoss and San Patricia Counties, to-wit: "Beginning at the intersection of east shore of Padre Island and the South boundary line of Nueees County: Thence 'Plesterly with the common boundary between Xleberg and Nusces County to its intersection with San Fernando Creek= Thence in a Northwesterly direction with the common boundary line between Kleberg and Nueoes Counties following the meanders of San Fernando Creek to a point where the Jim ';galls- Usberg County line intersects San Fernando Creek; Thence in a `,estarly direction with the common boundary line between Kleberg and Nueees Counties to the common corner betwee:a Nuseea, Klebere and Jim "sells Country; Thence in a northly direction_ along the common boundary between Nueoes and Jim vVells County to an agnle point in said line east of the town of Alfred; Thence in a northeasterly direction along the Nueces and Jim fells County line to its intersection with the Nueoss River; Thence in an easterly direction In a straight line to a point in the town of '(.droy where Highway No. 9 and State t1i6hway No. 234 running east and west between Ldroy and ::dam inter- sect; Thence continuing in an easterly and southeasterly direction along State highway No. 234 between _'droy and Aem; to a point one mile west of city limits of Odem; Thence right angles in a southwesterly direction a dis- tance of two miles to a point; Thence at rigixt angles in a southeasterly di- rebtion a distance of two and one -half miles to a point; Thence at right angles in a northeasterly direction to its intersection with an east and -west road F. Containing approximately 1200 square miles. I1. The waters to be appropriated to the use of above described area are for the uses as not out as follows, to -wito (1) Domestic and municipal uses including water for sus- taiuing human life and life of domestic azlimals. (2) For irrigation. minim;, rvsnuf'acturing and operation of waterworks for cities and towns and stock raising* (3) For public parka, game preserves, recreation and pleasure resorts, power,and water supply for industrial pur- poses and plants and for domestic use. III. The amount of sore -feet requested to be appropriated for the uses as set out is five hundred thousand (500,000) acre -foot, to be apportioned as follows, to -wit: (1) Domestic and municipal uses including water for sustaining human life and the life of domestic animals, 220,000 acre -feet per annum. (2) Water to be used in process designated to convert materials of a lower order of value into forms having a greater usability and commerical value, and to include water necessary for development of electric power by means other than hydro- electric, including industrial uses. 100.000 sore -feet. (3) Irrigation, to be restricted to two acre-foot per sore for each acre actually irrigated within the limits of the 1400000 acres (gross) as not out in Permit No. 933. (5) No water is sought to be appropriated for hydro- electric power. (6) No water is soui;ht to be appropriated for navigation. {7} Recreation and pleasure, 30,000 aore - feet. IV. The applicants request the right to transport appropriated water requested in this application along the natural channel or bed of the Nueces River from the impounding reservoir to Galalleu Filtration Plant and rump "cation.. V. The devices and methods to be used in diverting water from reservoir or river will be by .gravity from the dam site down the channel of the river to the low water dam at Calallen, awned by the City of Corpus Christi from :which will be, and is now being, diverted by pumping plants to the uses set out in this application. (a.) No hydro- electrio power is contemplated under this permit. VII. The lands proposed to be irrigated are the same as the lands described in Permit Flo. 933 to be irrigated therein and for more complete description of said land reference is hereby made to hitter Permit No-.933 and the records thereof. No new or additional lands are proposed to be irritated under this amended permit in addition to those set out in said saeter Permit No. 933• VIII. Said waters sought to be appropriated under this amended permit are to be appropriated from the ordinary, flow, storm and rain waters of the State of Texas and all surplus water will be returned to the channel of the Nueces River immediately below the impounding reservoir -3- together with the water that in to be appropriated under this application which will be conveyed from the plaee of storage to the diversion plant of the City of Corpus Christi at Calallen. Texas. as permitted by "ats of the 49th Legislature, Chapter 238, Page 313, Article 750, Revised Statutes as amended in 1945 and all surplus water will be returned to the channel at the Nusces River immediately below the Cityts low mater dam at Calallen. the foregoing details are further delineated on maps.plats, and drawings submitted with this application. IX. The water souLht to be appropriated hereunder will be stored in the present reservoir at Mathis and future reservoirs to be constructed.
