January, 1945, by and between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and
Fairbanks, -,!arse W Co., an Illinois corporation, for the furnishing by
the latter of certain Diesel enCines, bears, p•uzaps, and appurtenances for
the Ba..+ Front project of the City, be, and the same is hereby, cancelled,
and a.iy- nd all, obligations, liabilities, claims, and der-11-dc of each and

Lay ^ront project in order to serve the best interests of the City
creates a public e—rgercy and public imperative necessity requiring
the suspension_ of the Ci:arter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such
ordinance or resolutioni shall be read at three several m•:�etin„s of the
City Council, and the 1'aayor havin6 declared that such public emergency
and imperative necessity exist, and havin requested that such Charter
rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be gassed finally on the date
of its introduction and take effect tuid be in full force and effect from

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
fore ` oin - ordinance, a pablic emergency and imperative necessi7r
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall 're passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetin;;s of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request thet
you susp nd said Charter rule or requirement and Hass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meetinL of
the City Council.
