HomeMy WebLinkAbout02212 RES - 01/20/1948A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION OF OFFICIAL NOTICE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS, ON THE 16TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, A. D. 1948, FOR THE PURPOSE OF GIVING ALL INTERESTED CITIZENS, PROPERTY OWNERS AND PARTIES NOTICE OF HEARING TO CONSIDER THE ADOPTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE AMENDMENTS THERETO IN WHICH IT IS PROPOSED TO AbMNND THE PRESENT CITY ZONING ORDINANCE AND ALL AMENDMENTS THERETO IN SO FAR AS SAME APPLIES TO ALL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCYa WHEREAS, the City Council has received a recommendation from the City Zoning and Planning Commission recommending that the present Zoning Ordinance and amendments thereto be amended in so far as same covers all property located within the corporate limits of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEARS: SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Corpus Christi is hereby authorised to publish an official notice in the official publica- tion of the City of Corpus Christi giving all interested citizens, property owners and parties notice of the public hearing to be held on February 16, 1948, at 700 P.M, in the City Council Chamber at the City Ball, Corpus Christi, Texas, at which hearing all citizens, property owners and parties at interest will be given an opportunity to protest or make recommendations regarding the proposed amendment to the present Zoning Ordinance and the amendments thereto. SECTION 2. Said notice shall be published in the Corpus Christi Press on the 29th day of January, 1948, on February 5, 1948, and on February 12, 1948. SECTION 3. The necessity for providing adequate zoning for the City of Corpus Christi in order to protect the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having 2-Z %Z declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that suoh Charter rule be suspended, and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS kCCMDINGLY 80 RESOLVED.
