CLOSING ALL STREETS AND ALLEYS IN NEIMANN'S
ADDITION IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
AND QUIT - CLAIMING ALL RIGHT, TITLE OR INTEREH
IN AND THERETO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi Independent School District has
petitioned the Mayor and City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, to close all streets and alleys in Neimann's Addition, to
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, notice of the requested closing of said streets
and alleys in the said Neimann's Addition .has, within the time
required by law, been duly given by publication, . and by mail to
the last known address of all property owners abutting on said
streets and alleys requested to be closed, and within Four Hundred
Fifty (450') feet thereof, pursuant to the provisions of Article 2,
Section 6, of the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
and of the hearing to be held thereon on the 9th day of March,
1948, at 4:00 o'clock P.M.; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the notice given as above set
forth, and under the provisions of Article 2, Section 6, of the
City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a public hearing
was held on said Petition by the City Council of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, at 4:00 o'clock P.M. on the 9th day of March, 1948,
in the Council Chamber at the City Hall; and
WHEREAS, at such public hearing it was established that the
public welfare, convenience and necessity will be better served
by closing such streets and alleys.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That all the streets, to -wit, Muecke, 2appe,
Clyde, Nicks, Neimann and Pearl, and all alleys in Blocks One (1)
to Sixteen (16) inclusive, of the Neimann's Addition to the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof duly
recorded in Book 3, page 11 of the Map Records of Nueces County,
Texas, be,.and the same are hereby, abandoned and closed.

SECTION 2. That the City of Corpus Christi hereby quit-
Claims to the Corpus Christi Independent School District, the
owner of all abutting property thereon, all right, title or interest
said City may have in and to said streets and alleys hereby closed,
as described in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. The fact that public convenience and necessity
will be better served by the immediate closing of said streets
and alleys named and described in Section 1 of this Ordinance,
creats a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter Rule which provides that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced,
and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three regular
meetings of the City Council; and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter Rule be suspended, and that this
Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect, and be in full force and effect, from and after its
passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY ORDERED.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 9th day of March, A.D. 1948.
