Z -�_Z CLOSING A PORTICN OF A TNENTY (20`) FOOT ALLEY ACROSS BLOCK SIXTY -SIGHT (68) IN BROOKLYN ADDI- TION TO THE CITY Or' CORPUS CHRISTI, TEKAS, AND DECLARING All EMERGENCY. ivHEREAS, notice of the closing of a portion of the twenty (20') foot alley across Block Sixty -eight (66) of the Brooklyn Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, has been given by publication and by - mail to the last known address of all owners abutting said described alley and within four hundred and fifty (11501) feet thereof, and there- after, pursuant to said notice, to -wit: on the 6th day of April, A. D. 1948, the public hearing was held by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of Section 6, Article 2 of the Charter of the City of Corpus Christi; and, NHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council after such public hearing that the hereinafter described alley should be closed and it shall be to the advantage of the City of Corpus Christi to have said alley closed; NON, TH3F— EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That the following described alley, to -wit: Being a portion of a 20 foot alley across Block 68, Brooklyn Addition, situated in the City oP Corpus Christi, Nusces County, Texas, more particularly described by metes end bounds as follows= Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 2, Block 68, Brooklyn Addition for the southwest corner of this description; Thence in a northeasterly direction with the northeast boundary line of Lots 2, 11, 6, 8, 10 and 12, s distance of 300 feet to the northeast corner of said Lot 12, for the northwest corner of this description; Thence is a southeasterly direction with the northeast boundary line of 'Naldue Street a distance of 16.52 feet for the northeast corner of this description; Thence in a southwesterly direction parallel with the west boundary line of Timon Boulevard a dist —e of 68.28 feet to its inter- section with the northwest boundary line of fractional Lot 9, 81 ock 68, Brooklyn Addition for a corner of this description; Thence continuing in a southwesterly direction with the north- west boundary line of fractional Lots 9, 7, 5, 3 and 1, a dis- tance of 231.81 feet to the southwest corner of said fractional Lot 1 for the southeast corner of this description; Thence in a northwesterly direction with the northeast boundary line of Hayes Street, a distance of 20 feet to the place of beginning, be closed to public use. Ag5, SECTION 2. That the said alley above described is hereby closed, cancelled and abandoned by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and the said City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereby relinquishes and quit claims all its right, title and interest in and to the above described alley to mrs. Ole J. Blythe Jones, her heirs and assigns. SECTION 3. The fact that public convenience and necessity will be better served by the immediate closing of such described alley oreatea a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the iayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED. D. 1948• City of Corpus Christi, Texas ATTEST: 'City c ary APPR AS TO LEGAL FORM, { oray A or y t /sie ZA Corpus C risti, Texaa April 1948 TC THE IC'ITERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the a ergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
