TAXI CAB COMPANY TO RAY URDO LONGORIA, PETE LONGORIA, AND MANUEL S. LONGORIA, DOING BUSINESS UNDER THE SAS OF BIACK AND WHITE TAXI COMPANY, AND DECLAH[NG AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, did on the 30th day of April, 1946, pass and approve an Ordinance granting a franchise to J. R. Rowland, A. R. Gaugler, and Brooks Lindsey, d/b /a 0. I. Taxi Cab Company, said Ordinance No. �_ of record in Volume 14, Page L& of the Resolutions and Ordinances book of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, Raymundo Longoria, Pete Longoria, and Mumel S. Longoria, doing business under the firm name of Black and White Taxi Cab Company, have purchased the franchise of the G. I. Taxi Cab Company including the twelve (12) permits granted by City of Corpus Christi, and the twelve (12) meters owned by the G. I. Taxi Cab Company*, such sale being subject to the approval of the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That the Taxi Franchise and all rights and privileges inoident thereto which was issued to J. R. Rowland, A. R. Gaugler and Brooks Lindsey, doing business as the G. I. Taxi Cab Company of Corpus Christi, Texas, is hereby transferred to Raymando Longoria, Pete Longoria, and Manuel S. Longoria, doing business under the firm name of Black and White Taxi Cab Company of Corpus Christi, Texas, and said transfer is hereby approved. SECTION 2. That the said Raymundo Longoria, Pete Longoria, and Manuel S. Longoria, doing business under the firm name of Black and White Taxi Cab Company, shall be bound by ali the terms, covenants and obligations of the original franchise Issued to J. R. Rowland, A. R. Gaugler and Brooks Lindsey d/b /a G. I. Taxi Cab Company. SECTION 3. The fact that the Black and White Taxi Cab Company cannot legally operate cabs under aforesaid franchise without approval of the City Council creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the day it to introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and have requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the day of its introduction and take effect, and be in full force and effect, from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO OR. Gentlemen: We have entered into an agreement to sell our franchise to operate taxi cabs in, on and over the streets of the City of Corpus Christi with Raymundo Longoria, Pete Longoria and Manuel S. Longoria, a partnership doing business as Black & White Taxi Company. This sales agreement is of course subject to the approval by the City- Council of the transfer of said taxi cab franchise and permits. We respectfully request that you pass an ordinance approving the transfer of the franchise and permits from G. T. Taxi Cab Company to Black & White Taxi Cab Company.
