CAB COMPANY, COMPROMISING A DISPUTE IN REGARD TO GROSS RECEIPTS TAXES, OR STREET RENTAL FEES OR LICENSE FEES PAID BY SAID CAB COMPANY TO THE CITY AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND SEVEN fMDRED AND FORTY -SIX DOLLARS AND SI%TY CENTS (61,7146.60) FROM CURRENT FUND NO. 102 TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF AFFECTING SAID COMPROMISE. WHEREAS, a dispute exists between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a municipal corporation, and Brooks Lindsey and Clyde Rowland, —are and operator. of the G. 1. Cab Company, as to whether or not the City of Corpus Christi is entitled to keep or whether the G. I. Cab Company is entitled to recover from the City Of Corpus Christi the sum of Two Thousand and Seventy -six and 60/100 (02,076.60) Dollars, the same being groe. receipts taxes or street rental fees or lioense fees paid by said Cab Company to the City Of Corpus Christi from the 23rd day of May, 1946, to the 15th day of September, 19147; and, WHEREAS, the said Brooks Lindsey and Clyde Rowland, cuners and operators of G. I. Cab Company have agreed to accept the sum of One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty -six Dollars and Sixty Cents ($1,746.60) in full and complete settlement of all rights and claims they may have against the City for any street rental fees, gross re- ceipts taxes or other license fees or charges collected by the City of Corpus Christi from the G. I. Cab Company and its owners prior to the 16th day of September, 19147; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed advantageous to the City to accept such compromise; and, WHEREAS, there is needed the sum of One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty -six Dollars end Sixty Cents (61,746.60) to consumate aforesaid compromise; and, WHEREAS, there is sufficient funds in Current Fund No. 102 which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose; NON, THMJEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXASi Sa SIB SECTION 1. That all the things set out in the preamble to this ordinance are true and correct. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorised and directed to consumate said settlement as herein set out and said settlement and compromise in all respects is hereby approved, a copy of a release to be accepted by the City from Brooks Lindsey and Clyde Rowland, d/b/a G. 1.
