Seale, Mayor George R. Clark, Jr. John A. Ferris commissioners R. R. Henry 1 Joe T. Lawweon M. A. Cage, Jr. City Secretary, with the following absent- /(/ Al constituting e quorum, at which t' the following among other business was transacted, 19i-• t € presented, for the consideration of the Council, an Ordinance. The Ordinance was read by the City secretary. The blayor presented to the Council a communication in writing pertaining to said proposed Ordinance, as follows, Corpus Christi, Texas .Jose 15th , 1948 TO THE L2MRS OF TIM CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas C ntlemen, For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pas, this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. The motion was seconded by Mr. The motion was carried by a unanimous vote by the City Council, viz; AYESt Commissioners Clark, Ferris, Henry and Dawson. PIAYES. None. NAYES: Bone. The Mayor requested that the records show that he voted ?Aye. This was done. The Mayor announced that the Ordinance had been passed. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, did on June 11, 1948, receive certain offers for the bonds hereinafter described, pursuant to an Official Offering thereof. Said bonds being briefly described as follows, Storm Sewer Improvement Bonds, $1,1465,000.00; Street Improvement Bonds, 585,000,00; Sanitary Sewer System Improvement Bonds, 950,000.00; Airport Bonds, 100,000.00; Park Improvement Bonds, 150,000,00; and, VjiEREAS, after having received and considered all of the bids filed for said bonds the City Council considers the offer of the A.
