SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
January 3, 1975

Mayor Jason Luby called the meeting to order in the Council Chamber
of the City Hall.
City Manager Townsend presented the following recommendation:
Recommendation that the City Manager be authorized, on behalf of
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as administrative unit for the Coastal Bend
Manpower Council, to execute the initial'grant_application to the Department of
Labor for Title VI of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973,
monies totaling $909,276.
Motion by Branch, seconded by Acuff and passed, that the foregoing
recommendation be granted, adopted and approved, as presented by City Manager
Townsend.
Motion by Acuff, seconded by Branch and passed, that the absence of
Commissioner Tom Gonzales be excused for just cause.
There being no further business to come before the Council, motion
by Acuff, seconded by Branch and passed, that the Special Meeting be adjourned
at 4:26 p.m., January 3, 1975.
