Sires Contract N216s -OM covering water for the U* S, Naval Auxiliary Air Station at Cuddiby Field is hereby modified to provide for the City of Corpus Christi to assume custody of the married officers quarters. The V. S. Naval Auxiliary Air Station will no longer be billed for water delivered to that area* The above modification is made under authority of Public law #13s it being the judgment of the contracting officer that such modification is to the best interests of the Government. It is requested that the acceptance form at the bottses of the enclosed three copies of this letter be signed and returned to the Supply and Fiscal Officer, U. S. Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi. The necessity for conforming with the terms set out in the contracts with the United States of America concerning ' Cuddihy Field creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinan or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meet- ings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after it e , IT IS ACCO.DINGLY SC ORDAINED. Corpus Christi, Texas June — 1948 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen- For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requi ent that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting o£ the City Council.
