UMBELS, at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 27th day of July, 1948, and prior to the first regular meeting of the City CoUncil in August, 1948, the City Council did, by Ordinance, eooept, approve and adopt the Budget of the City of Corpus Christi, for the fiscal year, beginning August 1, 1948, and ending July 31, 19149; end, WBEREAS, upon adoption of the Budget, and pursuant to Section 27, Article V, of the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi, T-, the City Council moat at case, by ordinance, appropriate such some of money for each department as provided in the.Budget for the ensuing fiscal year from August 1, 1948, to July 31, 1949; NCI THUSFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS: SECTION 1. That on this, the 27th day of July, 1948, and subsequent to and following the passage of the ord+ � accepting, approving and adopting the Budget of the City of Corpus Christi for the fiscal year, beginning August 1, 1948, and ending July 31, 1949, certain sums of money be, and they are hereby appropriated to cover the Gums as provided for each of the several departmeata of said City, ea said eons do appear in the said Budget already approved by ordinance by the said City Council of the City of CorpuS Christi, and said Budget being of record in the archives of said City. SECTION 2. The fact that the Budget was delayed, and that the appropriation ordinance must be immediately passed after the Budget is adopted, and must be published once before becoming affeotive, creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the one - pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative neoesaity exist, and having requested that suoh Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and teke effect and be in Pull force and effect from and after ita peeaage, IT I9 ACCCRDIUGLY So oEDAnW.
