M EREAS, under the Statutes of the State of Texas, the City is required to pay into the FYrements Belief and Retirement Fund an amount equivalent to the contributions made by the firemen for each calendar year; and, wxtRMS, the City should pay into the Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund the sum of 02,043.14 in order to equal the oontribu- tions made by the firemen for the calendar year of 1947; and, ➢6EMM, there is suffioient funds in Current Find No. 102, which is now unencumbered and which funds are available for this purpose, NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CRRISTI,.TE%ASt SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the a= of $2,043.14 from Cvrreat Fund No. 102 to be used for the purpose of pay- ing into the Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund an equal amount with the Contributions made by the fireman for the Calendar year, 1947. SECTION 2. The fact that the laws of the State of Texas require the City to pay the funds stated above into the Fireman's Relief and Retirement Fund, and the fact that same must be paid before July 31, 1945, the end of the fiscal year, creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public amergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take affect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
