Cage, Jr,, City Secretary, with the following abseuts , constituting a quote, at which time the foilowi.ng among other business was transacted; gr. presented for the consideration of the Council an Ordinance. The Ordinance was read by the City Secretary, The Mayor presented to the Council a communication in writing pertaining to i Sold proposed Ordinance, as follows, I� Corpus Christi, Texas J. Z' 1948. Gentlamen� For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing o+dinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity estst for the suspeueionl Of the Charter Rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at them meetings of the City Connoilj I,£herefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. BE IT ORDAIN BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CNBISTI, I. That Ordinance No. 2294 authorizing the issuance of City of Corpus Christi, Teases waterworks Revenue Bonds, Series 1948 -A, $2,550,000.00, passed finally by the City Council on June 15, 1948, be amended in the following particularsr (1) In Suction 17, Subs- section (C) and (d) the words and figures °Section Ib" am amended to be and read °Section 170, (2) That the words and figures "Article 110 appearing in the i 8th Whereas clause of the preamble be and they are hereby amended to be and read "Article II". (3) In Section 17 (a) the word Thusteec is ammAed to be and read sito " "Dap" ry . II. That the bond form prescribed substantially In the form of Deed of Trust contained in Ordinance No. 2294 passed finally on June 15, 1948 ae modified by the resolution adopted by the City Council on duly b, 1948, prescribing an additional bank of payment and the interest rates for the bonds, be amended in the following particulars: (1) In the tent of the bond form between the paragraph deeoribing I the funds constituting seourlty for the bond. and the paragraph deeoribing 1 the option of redemption rights reserved to the City, strike therefrom the words and figures "Note 20. (2) In the paragraph reserving to the City the option of j redemption prior to maturity the clause as follows: jj "and if redeemed on and after June 1. 1978 without premium" 38 amended to be and read: IIand if redeemed on and after inns 1, 1958 without premium ". li (3) Immediately following the conpoa• form for Bonds Nos. 46 to j 2550, both inclusive, the words and figures contained in the instructions itto the printers, viz' "June 1, 1950" are amended to be and read "June 1, 1951 ".
