BE IT ORDAINED By THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OY CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi
is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Contract With C. C. Stone
for and on behalf of the City for the purohese of It 1, Block 108,
Brooklyn Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. amid lend to be
used for right- of-may purposes for oonstruation of U, S, Mghwq No, 181,
a copy of said Contract being attached hereto and made a part hereof for

SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby further authorised
and directed to deposit One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) with the GuaihvL7
Title and Trust Company in esorow, u at out in said Contrast, said aim
to be paid from Street Improvement Bonds 1948 Construotion Find.
SECTION 3. The fact that it is necessary to obtain proper
right -o£ -way In order to proceed with the construction of U. S. Highway
To. 181 within the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and
public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
foroe and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDLINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons .et forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a publio emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the .uspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council, T, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
