EXTENDING THROUGH BLOCK FOUR (4) , STEELE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS, AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Notice of Publio Hearing oa the closing of an alley in Block Four (4), Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, has been given by publication and by registered mail to the last known addressee of all owners abutting said alley and within 450 feet thereof, and thereafter pursuant to said Notice, to -writ, On the 17th day of August, 1948, a Public Hearing was held by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in accordance with the provisions of Section 6, Article 2 of the City Charter; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council after euoh Public Hearing that said alley has not been used for some time and is not, now being used, nor is Same of any benefit to the citizens of the City, and that it will be to the advantage of the City of Corpus Christi to have said alley closed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TBE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TESAS: SECTION 1. That an alley, ten feet (101) wide and nine hundred feet (9001) long, extending through Block Four (4), Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be closed for public use, and Same is hereby declared to be closed for public use. SECTION 2. The feet that public oonvenienoe and necessity will be better served by the closing of the alley in Block L6 Steele Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro- duced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergenoy and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect IL I a 3 _( ,o from and after its paseage, IT IS ACCCRMGLY 30 ORDA12M.
