SECTION 1. That the City Meaager of the City of Corpus
Christi, Tease, is harsby authorized and directed to execute a Contract
with Isabelle Reilly for and on behalf of the City for the purohaae of
Lot 3, Block 106, Brooklyn Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
said land to be used for right -oP-W purposes for construction of U. S.
Highti9ey No. 181, a copy of said Contract being attaohad hereto and made a

GUARANTY TITLE AND TRUST COMPANY
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby further authorized
and directed to deposit Two &mdred Dollars ($200.00) with the Guaranty
Title and Trust Company in escrow, as set out in said Contract, said sum
to be paid from Street Improvement Bonds 19148 Construction Fund.
SECTION 3. The fact that it is necessary to obtain proper
right- of -uey in order to proceed with the construction of U. S. Highway
No. 181 within the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and
public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally ou the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
soveral meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and takeeffeot and be in Pull
force and effect from end after its passage. IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAI .
PASSED AND APPROVED this '7day of August, A. D. 19L8.

TO THE MWERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

Gentlemen.
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution Shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduoed, and that suoh ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
