CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1, That the City Manager of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to eaeeute a Contract
with G. E. Hudson and Annie Mae Hudson for and on behalf of the City for
the purchase of Lots 5, 7 and 9. Block 106, Brooklyn Addition to the City
of Corpus Christi, Team, said lend to be used for right- o£-way purposes
for construction of U. S. Highway No. 181, a copy of said Contract being
attached hereto and made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes.

GUARANTY TITLE AND TRUST COMPANY
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby further authorized
and directed to deposit Saven Smdrad Dollars ($700.00) with the Guaranty
Title and Trust Compwq in escrow, as set out in said Contract, said sum
to be paid from Street Improvement Bonds 1948 Construotion•Fund.
SECTION 3. The Pact that it is neoessery to obtain proper right-
of-way in order to proceed with the oonstruction of D. S. Highway No. 181
within the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and public
imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinanoe or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro-
duced end that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Counoil, and the Mayor having declared that such public
emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such
Chester rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and affect
from and after its passage, IT 13 ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the £ore -
goiag ordinance, s public emergency and imparati. necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or.
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Couaoil.
