AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY'
WMAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
AND TELLEPSEEN CONSTRUCTION CO. FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF FILTER PLANT S%
TENSIONS AT CALALLEN WATER PLANT, AND
DECLARDIG AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDA-UTM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorised and directed
to execute for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a Contract
for the construction of filter plant extensions at Celallaa Water Plant, which
Contract has been awarded to Tellepsen Construction Co., a private corporation,
in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents on file in
the City Seeretary's office, and according to the Bid of the said Tellepsen
Construction Co., opened on the 17th day o£ August, lg1B, the said Bid of
Tellepsen Construction Co. being the lowest end most advantageous to the City.
SECTION 2. The fact that it is to the greatest and beneficial interest
to the City of Corpus Christi that such improvements shall be immediately begiun
in order to protect the health and general welfare of its oiti— creates a
public emergenoy and public imperative neoessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, end the Yayor having declared that such
public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such
Charter rule be suspended, end that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY RC ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinenoe, a publio emergenoy and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that n o
ordinence or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three meetings of the City Council; I. therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
