C. KIRTLEY, THE PAYMENT OF $550.00 TO ARTHUR DOUGLAS THOMAS, THE PAYE'aNT OF $500.00 TO L. S. REED, Mi PAY MT OF $550.00 TO 0. H. WEST, JR., THE PAYI4ENT OF $2,290.00 TO JOHN L. TWKIRM, AND THE PAYLU':NT OF $1,05040 TO JOHN H. HUDSON, FOR PURCHASE OF SAID RIGHT -OF -WAY; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TBE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TE%ASr SECTION 1. That the City Manager ie hereby authorized and directed to purchase Right- of-Way for Storm Sewer and drainage ditches from William Gentry and Kitty ifol£ Gentry on a strip of land 50 feet in width and 1210 feet in length on the south side of Proctor Street between Santa Fe and Topeka Streets in the City of Corpus Christi; from E. C. Kirtley on Lots 31, 32, 33 and 34 in Block 017, Port Aransas Cliffs, on the south side of Proctor Street between Topeka and Alameda Streets in the City of Corpus Christi; from Arthur Douglas Thomas on Lot 64, Block 116, Port Aransas Cliffs in the City of Corpus Christi; from L. S. Read on Lot 1, Block 416, Port Aransas Cliffs in the City of Corpus Chriatij from 0, H. West, Jr. on Lot G6 Block 516, Port Aransas Cliffs in the City of Corpus Christi; from John L. Tompkins on Lots 1 and 64 in Block 616, and Lots 1 and 64 in Block 716, Port from Aransas Cliffs in the City of Corpus Christi; and/Joha H. R'udson. on Lota 1 and 64, Block 816, Port Aransas Cliffs in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to pay to William Gentry and Kitty Wolf Gentry the sum of "DOO.DOj E. C. Tompkins the sum of $20295,00; and John H, Hudson the sum of $18050.00, for the purchase of right -of -way over the respective land described in Scotian 1 of this Ordi- naaoe, said sums t6 be paid out of Storm Sewer Improvement Construction Fund: SECTION 3• The fact that it is necessary to obtain right -o£ -way and in order to carry out needed drainage projects on .Proctor Street oreates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the MWor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from end after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDA'rM. City of Corpus Christi, Texas Corpus Christi, Texas August _7— 1918 TO THE MWERS OF THE CITY COUECII, Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance. a public emergency and imperative neoessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinanae or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that Such ordinance or resolution shell be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meoting of the City Council.
