AND DECLARING AN 31MGMTGY. ,flUUMS, various citizens have petitioned the City to place signs on various unused portions of Timon Boulevard and Avenue "C ", and said persons have agreed to keep the area in which said signer are placed in a neat and clean condition and to properly maintain suoh areas; end, of ' ^ , it is doomed beneficial to the City to allow the maints- nanoe of such signs in order to relieve the City of the cast of properly maintaining said unused portions of Time- Boulevard and Avenue "C "j NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, =AS: SECTION 1. That the City lianager is hereby authorized and direoted to execute "revocable per-mite" for and on behalf of the City with the Following persons and at the locations hereinafter specified: 1. W. F. Pearson -- To erect a sign approximately 65 feet east of Lots 1 and 3, Block 59, Brooklyn Addition in the right- .f- y of Avenue "C ". 2. Tom J. Bowmen -- To erect a sign approximately 30 feet east of Lots 5 and 7, Block 59, Brooklyn Addition in the right - of -nay of Avenue "C ". 3. Oscar G. Krauss -- To erect a sign approximately 50 feet east of Lots 9 and 11, Block 59, Brooklyn Addition in the right -o£ -way of Avenue "C ". 4. B. C. 6 w. Co., Iwo. -- To erect a sign app—xi ataly 50 Peet east of Lots 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11, Block 60, Brooklyn Addition in the right -of -way of Avenue "C ". 5. E. E. Harland and F. W. Bauch -- To erect a sign approximately 15 Peet and a flag pole approximately 20 feet east of Lots 1, 3, and 5, Block 61, Brooklyn Addition in the right -of -way Hof Avenue "C ". 6. H. E. Harland -- To erect a sign approximately 10 Peet east Of Lots 9 and 11, Block 61, Brooklyn Addition in the right -of -way of Avenue "CO. a�,. A3W ,�; 7. W. E. Chastain -- To erect a sign approximately 12 feet east of Lot 1 and the South it of Lot 3, Blook 62, Brooklyn Addition, and a concrete post 10 feet east of , the aforesaid lot in the right -of -way of Avenue "C" and./or Timon Boulevard. S. Joe Hall -- To erect a sign approximately 10 feet east of Lot 5 and the North s of Lot 4, Block 62, Brooklyn Addition in the right -of-M of Avenue "C" and /or Timon Boulevard. 9. W. H. Higdon -- To ereot a sign. approximately 10 feet east of Lots 7, 9, and 11, Block 62, Brooklyn Addition in the right -of -way of Avenue "C" and /or Timon Boulevard. SECTION 2. The neoessity for proouring proper upkeep and maintensnee without cost to the City of unused portions of City streets creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rulo be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed fissally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in Pull force and effect from and after its passage, IT I3 ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAEfa. AMST: R City of Corpus Christi, Texas i APPROVED AS TO or LEGAL F FM i orney (jA ssie ant i .torney Corpus Christi, Texas August, 1948 TO THE BdMIM OF M CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen, For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolu- tion shell be read at three meetings of the City Councils 1, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this Ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
