SECTION 1. That t&e City Manager i. hereby authorized and directed
to exeunt. a Contract for and on behalf of the City oxahanging Lot 8 in Block
103, Brooklyn Addition, for Lot 7, Block 103, Brooklyn. Addition, said lot
acquired by the City to be used for right- of-way for U. S. Highway No. 181,
a copy of said Contract being attached hereto and made a part hereof for all
pertinent purposes.

SECTION 2. The necessity for providing adequate right- of—aye
for highmy purposes within the City of Corpus Christi, creates a public
emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the
Chester rule that no ordinance orresolution shall be passed finally on the
date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three severe1 meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
that such public emergency and imperative necessity east, and having re-
quested that such Cluster rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take Sfect and be in
full Porte and offset from and aftcr its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
MAINE.

For the reasons set forth in the emerganoy olause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergenoy and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduoed, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduoed, or at the present mooting of the City Council.
