BET670A THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
AND J. M. DELLINGER, INC. FOR THE RE-
SNRFACING OF 13.2 MILES OF STMTS IN
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT CRDAI= BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CMSTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute for end on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, a Contract
for the resurfacing of 13.2 miles of streets in the City of Corpus Christi,
which Contract has been awarded to J. M- Dellinger, Inc., a orivate ocrporation,
in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents on file in
the City Secretaryls office, and according to the Bid of the said J. M.
Dellinger, Inc., opened on the 26th day of August, 194H, the said J. M.
Dellinger, Inc. being the lowest and most advantageous to the City.
SECTION 2. The fact that it is to the greatest and beneficial
interest to the City of Corpus Christi that such improvements shall be
immediately begun in order to protect the ,health and general welfare of its
Citizens Creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the
Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity
exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, end that
this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDIPIGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the omergenoy clause o£ the foregoing
ordinanos, a publio emergeney and imperativs necessity exist for the sus-
pension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordi-
nance or resolution shell be read at three meetings of the City Council;
I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said charter rule or require-
ment and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introdueed, or at
the present meeting of the City Council.
