SECTION 1. That the City 1knager of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to excoute a Contract for
and on behalf of the City with J. M. Dellinger, Inc. for the construction of
permanent paving on Tarlton Street from the west line of Ayers Street to
the east property line of Pineda ParL and the widening with permanent paving
of Alameda Street from the south property line of Clifford Street to the
north property line of Louisiana Avenue, along with storm sewers, curbs
and Cutters, sidewalks and appurtenant structures, a Copy of said contract
being on file in the official records of the City in the City Sscretary's
office, reference to which is hereby made for all intents and purposes.
SECTION 2. Such amcvnts of money as are due to be paid under
this contract from the Citd^ of Corpus Christi shell be paid from Street Im-
provement Bonds, 19LO, Construction Fund.
SECTIOIT 3. The necessity for providing adequate streets in the
City of Corpus Christi, and in order to protect the health and general
welfare of its citizens creates a public emergency and public imperative
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinanco or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that
such ordinance or resolution shall be road at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the u'ayor having declared that such public emergency and
imperative necessity exist, and having^, requested that such Charter rule be
suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its •
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect frog and after

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity
exist for the suspension o£ the Charter rule or requirement that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be reed at
three meetings of the City Council; 1, therefore, hereby request that
you suspend said Charter rule or require*_ient and pass t,ds ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.
