BE IT ORDAMED BY THE CITY CODIXIL OF TM! CITY OF CORPUS CMISTI,
TEXAS,
SECTION 1. That the City vv, „4gor is hereby authorized and directed
to execute for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, Taxes, a Contract
for furnishing a pumping plant, reservoir and equipment at the Savage Lane
Plant for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, with J. Do Puy end E. D. Do Pry
of Bexer County, Texas, which Contract has been awarded said J. De Puy and
E. D. De Puy in accordance with the plane, specifications and contract docu-
ments on file in the City Secretaryts office, and according to the Bid of
the said J. Do Puy and E. D. De Puy opened on the 23rd day of September, A. D.
191.68, the said Bid of J. De Puy and E. D. De Puy being the lowest and moat
advantageous to the Cityf and that _10 Sum of '9745;00.00 to he paid -mder said

City of Corpus Christi that such improvements shall be immediately begun in
order to protect the health and general welfare of its citizens creates a
public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the 1&yor having de-
olared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having
requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinanoe be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDA TED.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency elms. of the foregoing
ordinance, a public .mergaeoy and imperative necessity erist' far the sus-
pension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date it :s introduced, and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three meetin s of the City Council, 1, there-
fore, hereby request that vcu suspend said Charter rule or requirement and
Pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present
meeting of the City Couaoil.
