M. DELLINGER, INC. AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. TESASt SECTION 1. That the work of resurfacing 13.2 miles of streets in the City of Corpus Christi, performed by J. M. Dellinger, Ina. having been performed and completed in aocordenos with the terms and provisions of the contract and the plans and specifications therein contained, said Contract being dated the 13th day of September, 10, and said oontraot being between the City of Corpus Christi, the County of Nueces and J. M. Dellinger, Ina. end the said Director of Public Works having inspected the same and certified to the completion of said work in accordance with said plane and specifications, and said work aforesaid is hereby found to have been completed in accord- with the plane and specifications end is here now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Tex". SECTICH 2. That there is due and payable from the City at this time as final payment on said contract the sum of Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Forty -six Dollars and Thirty -eight Cents (815,21}6.38), end that the City Manager is hereby authorized to pay J. M. Dellinger, Ino. the final payment of 515,2+6.38 due under the terms of the aforesaid contract, said payment to be made out of Street Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund. SECTION 3. The necessity for providing adequate streets and in order to protect the health end general welfare of the citizens of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or reso- lution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public smergenoy and imperative necessity a4a5 a' exist, and having requested that suoh Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the data of its introduotion and take effect and be in full fares end affect from and after its passage, IT Is A00O3DINGLY SO ORDAIM.
