VUMAS, by Ordinance No. 2331 passed by the City Council on the
27th day of July, 191.8, a Contract was entered into with Water Tank Service
Company for work and repairs to be done on water teaks end towers owned by
the City; and,
WHEREAS, there is new due said Water Tank Service Company the sum
Of Twelve Thousand Five &uadred Dollars ($12,500.00) for suoh work and re-
pairs to said water tanks and towars; end.
YMM&S, there are sufficient funds in Waterworks System Fond,
Item 'Maintenance and Operations" which are now =encumbered and which
funds are now unappropriated and are available for this purpose;
NOW, TMMEFORE, BE IT ORULUM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TKWt
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from the unappro-
priated mania. is Waterworks Bss"tam FSnd, item "Maintenance sod ope;retiona,
the EM of $12,50000 to Water Distribution System, Item; "DR - Reservoirs
and Standpipes ", said amount to be used for paying Water Tank Service Com-
pany for work and repairs on water tanks and tower" owned by the City in
acoordenoe with a contrast between the City and 'water Tank Service Company
authorized by Ordinance No. 2331 passed and approved by the City Council an
July 27, 1948.
SECTION 2. The fact that said work and repairs have been made in
a000rdanoe with said oontract mentioned in Section 1 hereof, and the fast
that the monies due on the sums have not been paid and should be paid creates
a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension
of the Chartar rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date it is introduced and that such ordinanoe or resolution .hall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having
declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and

having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordi-
nanoe be passed finally on the date of its introduotion aad take effect
and be in full tares and effect from and after its passage. IT IS ACCCRD-
zastr so off.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative neossaity exist for the aus-
peasion of the Charter rule or requiremeat that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date it is introduoed. and that such ordi-
nance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Counoilt
I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said charter rule or require-
ment and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at
the present meeting of the City Council.
