FOR BE- PAM TO THE STILLING BASIN AND NORTH CHAN- ffi. BANE AT LASE CORPUS CHRISTI DAM FEAR MAMIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF M S.W.37 UNDER SAID CONTRACT; AND DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CPTY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXA3, SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorised and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City, a Contract for repairs to the still- ing basin and north Channel bank at Lake Corpus Christi Dam near Mathis, Togas, which contract has been awarded to J. M. Dellinger, Inc, in accordance with the plane and speoifYoations and contract documents on file in the City Secretary's office and according to the Bid of the said J. M. Dellinger, Inc. opened on the 10th day of Deoember, A. D. 1918, the said bid of said J. M. Dellinger, Ino. being the lowest and moat advantageous to the City. SECTION 2. It is further ordained that the a= of $1488417.37 to be paid under said contract be paid from Waterworks Revenue Bonds Find, Series 1948 A, , ohich funds are available for this purpose. SECTION 3. For the reasons set forth in the -genoy clause of the Foregoing ordinances a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinanoe or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally oa the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
