FOR PAVING OF NINE- TEENTH STREET FROM AGNES TO LIPAN, LIPAN STREET FROM BRONNL.NE TO NINETEENTH AM CCMANCHE STREET FROM CONE TO NINETEENTEj AUTHORIZING PAYMENT UNDER SAID CONTRACT AND DECLARING AN EMOENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORpus CHRISTI. TEBAS. SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi to execute a Contract with J. M. Dellinger, Inc. for the paving of Nineteenth Street from Agnes to Lipan. Lipan Street from Browales to Nineteenth and .Comanche Street from Coke to Nineteenth, which contract has boon awarded said J. M. Dellinger, Inc. in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents on file in the City Secretary *e office, and according to the Bid of the said J. M. Dellinger, Inc. being the lowest and nost advantageous to the City. SECTION 2. That the sum of One Hundred and Nine Thousand One Hundred and Thirteen Dollars end Seventy -nine Cents ($109,113.79), being the amount to be paid under said contract mentioned in Section 1 hereof shall be paid from Street Improvement Bonds 1948 Construotion Fond. SECTION 3. The necessity for adequate street paving within the City limits in order to protect the general welfare of its citizens creates a public emergenoy and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed fine7.1y on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public omargenoy and imperative necessity .,.at, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in frill force and effect from and after itsspassage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED. For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Councilj I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. 7-439 Respeotfully, City of Corpus Christi, Texas The Charter rule was suspended by the following vote: Wesley E.
