HomeMy WebLinkAbout02442 ORD - 01/11/1949c7 � AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A BILL OF .RACE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY TO THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELE- PHONE COE4P= SELLING A TELEPHONE LINE AND APPURTENANCES NON LOCATED BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI WATERWORKS NEAR CALALLEN, TEXAS, FOR THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (03,500.00); AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to exeoute for and on behalf of the City a Bill. of Sala to It Southwestern Bell Telephone Company covering poles, brace poles, anchors, guy wires and associated appurtenances and fixtures in place, beginning with pole located on the northerly side of Shell Road at a point 7200 feet west of Lawrence Lane near Corpus Christi, Nueoes County, Texas, and ex- tends northwesterly along the northerly side of Shell Road 317 consecutive poles, a distance of approximately 10.3 miles to a point on the premises of the City of Corpus Christi Waterworks near Calallon, Nueass County, Taxae, and said City lain :+roaiva the sum of $3,500.00 for consideration of such sale. SECTION 2. The necessity for scouring additional revenue by the sale of material and equipment mhiah is no longer of benefit to the City creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three sevoral meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO aMLU D.
