AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MEAGER TO PURGNASE 4 ACRES OF LAND

PARK PURPOSES, PROVIDING FOR TBE PAY -
UENT OF $3,400.00 FOR SAID TRACT] AND
DECLARING AN EMGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEW 2
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to purchase from Orville VT. Eastland, Trustee, a tract of land containing
1.00 acres out of a certain 20 acre tract out of Lewis and Willard Tract out
of W. S. Harney 1,000 acre tract described as follows, to -wit:
Starting at the North Corner of said 20 core tract
as described in deed from Peter Busenlehner to Theresa
Schwabe, recorded in Volume 64, page 220, of the Deed
Records of Nueoes County, Texas, same being the North
corner of a certain 3.23 acre tract conveyed to the
Cor Christi Independent School District; Thence S.
44 opus Olu 24" W., along and with the Nortbsreet boundary
line of said School 3.23 acre tract, 551.6 feet to the
West corner of said School 3.23 acre tract for the
North corner of this tract and the Place of Beginning;
Thence, S. LO 581 36" E., along the Southwest boundary
line of the Southwest boundary line of said School 3.23
acre tract 255 feet to its South corner for the East
corner of this tract;
Thence S. 45' 01' 2V W., 683.29 Peat to a point for the
South oorneroof this tract;
Thence N. 4V 58* 36n W., 255 feet, to a point in the
Southeast line of Sam Houston Elementary School 9 acre
tract for the West corner of this tract;
Thence N. 450 O1l 244 E., along and with the Southeast
line of said Sam Houston Elementary School 9 acre tract
683.29 feet to the Place of Beginning.
SECTION 2. That the sum of Thirty -four Hundred Dollars (03,400,00)
is to be paid Orville W. Eastland, Trustee, as the total purchase price for
said lead; the sum of Three Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty -seven Dollars
and Fifty its ($3,387.50) is to be paid from the expandable trust fund for
Park Acquisition and Improvement and the rsmaini wnv $12.50 is to be paid from
the Regular Park Find Operating Budget.
SECTION 3. The necessity for acquiring proper park sites within
the City creates a public emergency and public imperative necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinanoa or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date it is introduced and that Bush ordinance or

resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor having declared that such public amergenoy and imperative
necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended,
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in Pull force and effect from and after its passage,

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergenoy and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City
Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule
or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is intro -
duoed, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
