FOR FURNISHING AND INSTALLING T%O 1,000,000 GALLON ELNPATED TA NHS AND TGh%RS VCR OV'•;RHCAD 7IA4.'EB. STORAGE; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT UNDER SAID CONTRACT AND DECLARING AN EMCENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That the City Manner is hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi to execute a Contract with Chicago Bridge & Iron Go. for the furnishing and installing of two 1,000,000 gallon elevated tanks and towers for overhead water storage, which contract has been awarded said Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. in accordance with the plane, specifications and contract documents on file in the City Secretary's office, and according to the bid of the said Ohioago Bridge & Iron Co., being the lowest and most advantage... to the city. SECTION 2. That the sum of 0357,300.00 to be paid under the terms of said contract shall be paid from Waterworks Revenue Bonds Series 1948 -A Construetion Fund. SECTION 3. The necessity for providing adequate storage for water in order to provide sufficient Tutor services for the citizens of the City oreates a public emergency and public imperative neoeasity requiring the sus- pension of the Charter rule that as ordinanaa or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that ouch Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
