FOR TEE SW OF 0`900,00; LOTS NOS, 1 AND 3, IN BLOCK N0. 109,
TO BE PURCHASED FROM MUM R. KLEBERG FOR THE SUM OF $500.00;
LOT N0. 11, IN BLOCK NO. 109, TO BE PURCHASED FROM MESOG V.
DONIGAN, ET AL, FOR TBE SUM OF 0300.00; AND LOT NO. 7. IN
BLOCS NO. 108, TO BE PURCHASED FROM FRANCIS M. JONES FOR THE

FOR TH6IPURCHASN OF AFORESAID RIGHT -CF -SPAY AND TO DO THE
NECESSARY THINGS REQUISITE TO OBTAINING SALE; PROVIDIIIG THAT
PAYIEIIT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAIZ SHALL BE pAID FROM STREET
IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1944, CONSTRUCTION FUND; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CWBE CHRISTI,
TTEUSS
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed,
for and oa behalf of the City, to purchase Lot No. Saver (7), in Block No. One
Hundred (100), Brooklyn Addition, from King Ranch, Inc, for the sum of Nine
Hundred Dollars (0900.00); Lots Nos. Cne (1) and Three (3), in Block No. One
Hundred and Nine (109), Brooklyn Addition, from Edward R. Kleberg for the a=
Of Five Hundred Dollars (8500.00); Lot No. Eleven (11), in Block No. One
Hundred and Nine (109), Brooklyn Addition, from Lesog V. Donigan, Parnot V.
Donigan, Zareh V. Donigan, Mrs. Luoy V. Welch, and Mrs. Nectarine V. Walker
and husband, for the awn of Three Hundred Dollars (0300.00); end Lot No. Seven
(7), in Block One Hundred and Eight (108), Brooklyn Addition, from Francis M.
Jones for the sum of 0 /,r4yo-� ; all of said lands to be used for right -of-
way purposes for U. S. Highway No. 181 in the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute the necessary contracts for the purchase of the right- of-way des-
cribed in Seotion 1 and to do all things o or requisite to obtaining
said right -of -nay.
SECTICM 3. That all arms to be paid for the purobssa of said right -
of -way and for title and other expenses incident to the acquisition of said
right- of-way are to be paid from Street Improvement Bonds 1946 Construction
Fund.
SECTICN 4. The necessity for acquiring adequate right -of -ways for
highways within the limits of the City Orestes a publio emergency and publio

imperative necessity requiring the suspension o£ the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is intro -
duoad and that suoh ordinance or resolution shall be read at thres'several

Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the
suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such
ordinance or resolutian shall be read at three meetings of the City Council;
me thcrefore. hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or require- nt and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at
the present meeting of the City Council.
