AUTHORIZING AID DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY WITH
WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CCRPORATICN
TO PCRCHM A PHOTOFLUOROGRAPHIC
X-RAY MACHINE lum CAMERA AND AC-
ORsSORISB; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS REQUISITE
TO THE PURCHABE OF SAID X-RAY, PRO-
VIDING FOR A METHOD OF PAYMENT FOR
SHIM; AND DECLARING AN MMCENff.

SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed for and on behalf of the City to execute a contract and any other
instruments requisite for the purchase of one P. F. X. Photofluorographic
S -Ray machine with camera and accessories; and the City Manager is to do
the things incident and requisite to the purchasing of said 8 -Ray machine.
SECTION 2. That the said S -Ray is to be purchased for the sum
Of Nina Thousand One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($9,150.00) plus the carry-
ing obarge of Coe Thousand Ninety -eight Dollars and Twelve Cents ($1,098.12),
Mkla total of Ten Thousand Two Hundred and Forty -eight Dollars and
Twelve Cents (010,21$.12), and same is to be paid for in thirty -six (36)
monthly installments of Two Hundred and Bighty -Your Dollars and Sixty-
seven Cents ($2a4.67) each, said payments to be made out of revenues re-
ceived from the use of said x -ray by the Health Department for charges
made by said department for the issuance of Food Handlers' Permits and
this obligation is in no manner to be an obligation aP the City of Corpus
Christi in regard to its general fund, but is to be paid entirely out of
revenues received as aforesaid, and the City is not in any manner to be
liable for the payments due for said x-ray exoapt that portion of such
monthly revenues received From the use of such machine as aforesaid necess-
ary to meet each monthly payment shall be set aside and used for that pur-
pose. Title to said machine is to remain in Sestinghouse Electric Corpor-
ation until said Corporation is paid in full.
SECTION 3. The necessity for acquiring a competent x -ray machine
in order that the Health Department may properly protect the health and
general welfare of the citizens of the City creates a public emergency and

publio imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter role
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is
introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having deolared that
such publio emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and affect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDA NM.

Gentlemen.
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be reed at three meetings of
the City Couuoil; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said
Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date
it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
