HomeMy WebLinkAbout02468 ORD - 02/08/1949AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ' MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LICENSE TO LAY A TWELVE INCH (12c) WATER LINE UNDER TEXAS AND NEW ORS:ASiS RAILROAD CCU- PAW TRACK AT OR NEAR STATION 4595t28, SAID LICENSE REG IN THE FORM OF AN AGRRF.SIFNd'P BETPJEM TIE CITY AND TEXAS AND NEW ORLEANS RAILROAD COMPANY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TESASs SECTION 1. That the City Yanager is hereby authorized and directed to execute sn agreement for and on behalf of the City with the Texas & New Orleans Railroad Company whereby said railroad company grants a license to the City to construct beneath the =face of the ground at a depth of not lose than fear feet (41) a twelve inch (10) octet iron water pipe line to cross Licensors property and under its track at an oblique eagle at Engineer's Station 4595+28. BECTI01T 2. The necessity for providing adequate right-of-way for water mains within the City creates a public emergency and nublio imperative necessity requiring the Suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public omergenoy and Im- perative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduotion-aad take e£:eot and be in full force and offset from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAn=.
